My name is Jayde Kienbaum and I created original art. My artwork is titled Dancing in the City, and it shows a dancer using a scorpion with no hands with New York City in the background. First I drew the dancer with pencil, sharpie and colored pencil. I used lines the most in this artwork. I used lines in her legs to show how they curve up and over her head, also for her hair I used heavy short strokes to make her bun more detailed and realistic. Then I created the ground below her with grass and I colored it green. Then I did a river in front of the city separating the dancer from the city, and I blended different blues together and I made the waves stick out more by shading them dark then going softer as I got out into the river (value). Next I created buildings in the background with a road going past the buildings. I learned how to curve my lines and how to shape my lines to create an object. I challenged myself by the lines in the river, also by the value in the waves. I chose to make this because I love dance and I like how there's a big open city in the backround, and I like big city’s. So I think it went good with the dancer, because it shows that she’s part of the community but yet she’s not because she’s across the river.
For my art project, I created original art. For this art project I sprayed a piece of paper with green and red paint, and then I folded it. When I unfolded it it make a butterfly shape, so I decided to make a butterfly with withered wings. The most strongest elements I used a heavy black oil pastel, I pushed harder on some spots on the wings, but on some parts I pushed harder to create darker lines. For the back round I used light red and green spray paint, which makes it look lighter and softer around the wings, and heavier in the wings.
This project I did is called “X.” I made it out of anger, when I was angry I started to scribble the pencil marks then I made it into an outlined x, I then made the blue and red around the pencil marks then I colored the background with black oil pastel. I like this art because I didn’t even think about it I just started to scribble and look what it came out to. A masterpiece. Ursula Abresch was born in Chile, but she moved to the United States to go to school. She went to school for photographing and art history, then moved up to Canada to start her career. I like the way she captures a moment and puts it on paper. She uses a camera and a computer to make her art, art. She uses color in her art to show emotion in the picture. She uses cold colors in the first picture to make it look simply but yet beautiful, but in the second picture she uses warm color to show that its Autumn. Her art really inspires me to do nature scenery because of how beautiful they are.
